Abstract

This paper presents the model of the heating rate electrothermal graphite tube furnace, including graphite «filter-furnace» atomizer «GRAPHITE-2», as well as the appropriate operating parameters of the ET AAS de-termination Pb and Cd. It is shown that the use of a graphite «filter-furnace» atomizer provides a ~ 2.0-2.5 fold improve the sensitivity of determination Pb and Cd, increase the temperature at pyrolisis stage by ~ 100 – 150 0C, as well as completely eliminate interference effects including background absorbance by the presence in analyzed solutions of 0.5 g∙dm-3 NaCl, Na2SO4, CaCl2, MgSO4. As the result, simple and effective method for the direct ET AAS determination of ≥ 0.0015; 00001 mg·dm-3 Pb and Cd respec-tively, in natural waters are proposed. The relative standard deviation (Sr) does not exceed 7%

Keywords: model of heating furnace, graphite «filter-furnace», palladium, cadmium, atomic absorption spectrophotometry, natural waters
