VOLTAMMETRIC DETERMINATION OF THALLIUM IN THE NaI:(Tl) AND CsI:(Tl) SINGLE CRYSTALS WITH INCREASED DOPANT CONTENT

The method of thallium determination based on recording of cathode voltammograms in acetate-ammonium buffer solution (pH 4.8) in the presence of complexone III was developed. Alternating current voltammetry with a valve-type stationary mercury electrode in a polarographic single-drop mode was used. The optimal conditions providing reliable and fast control of the thallium content from 1•10-3 to n wt. % in the small weights of NaI:(Tl) and CsI:(Tl) single crystals were found. It was shown that the results of analysis did not contain systematic errors. The random errors were characterized by the values of relative standard deviation of 0.02-0.04.
