PREDICTION OF ABSORPTION COEFFICIENTS AND SYSTEMATIC ERRORS FOR TOTAL HYDROCARBONS DETERMINATION BY IR-PHOTOMETRY

 It is possible to predict specific absorption coefficients (Ki) by the number of C-H bonds in methyl and methylene groups in the molecule for polychromatic IR radiation (3,3-3,5 mсm). Ki-meanings of individual hydrocarbons and their mixtures are predicted with the error not exceeding 20%. The accuracy of such forecasts decreases for non-hydrocarbon substances and for monochromatic IR-radiation too. The predicted Ki-meanings permit to calculate beforehand the systematic errors and to op-timize the procedures of analysis when the hydrocarbon total content in natural or waste waters is de-termined.
