About some features of Al (III) complexation with humic substances

Linnik P.N., Zhezherya V.A., Linnik R.P.

The results of the study of Al(III) complexation with humic substances (HS) of various sources of origin (humic acids, vfulvic acids from brown coal, humic substances allocated from water of upper part of the Kanev reservoir) are discussed. It is shown by means of the methods of gel, chromatography, spectrophotometry and the fluorescent analysis that Al3+,ions actively bind in complexes with HS studied. Formation of two types of the complex compounds differing by their stability (weaker and strong complexes) is established. Data about molecular, weight distribution of formed aluminum complex compounds are given. It is shown that HS of natural water binding Al(III) in complexes mainly with low molecular weight (≤ 2 kDa). The complexation of Al(III) with HS is accompanied by increase of intensity of their fluorescence in the majority of fractions. But in some of fractions the quenching of HS fluorescence is also observed, and it is shown in both high, molecular and low, molecular area.

Keywords: aluminum, humic substances, humic acids, fulvic acids, complexation, molecular, weight distribution, fluorescence
