Determination of chromate traces in water by chemiluminescence
Procedure of indirect chromate determination in waters has been developed based on iodide oxidation by dichromate, gas extraction of iodine formed and chemiluminescence detection of luminol in carrier gas flow. Preliminary coprecipitation of barium chromate with barium carbonate was used for separation from interfering components.The limit of detection for chromate is 7 μg/L. Duration of analysis is 20 min. Procedure was applied for analysis of tap water and sewage water of electroplating industry.
